Sossusvlei is situate in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, the largest conservation area in Africa, and is in all probability Namibia’s best known attraction. Surrounded by large red sand dunes, Sossusvlei is a large, white, salt and clay pan surrounded by massive red sand dunes. The dunes in this area are amongst the highest in the world, reaching almost 400 meters.
