Klaserie Private Nature Reserve
Established in 1969 and part of the greater Kruger National Park, the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is one of the largest privately owned nature reserves in South Africa, covering some 60 000 hectares. There are various commercial lodges ranging from rustic bush camps and walking trails to luxury game lodges. Deeply involved in the full spectrum of nature conservation, it is their philosophy to keep the Reserve as near to a pristine environment as possible by focusing efforts on minimising the human footprint. There are a number of wildlife initiatives including the Ground Hornbill Project, Rhino Protection and The Elephant Project. An array of spectacular camps and lodges form a significant part of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. Lodges such as Senalala Luxury Safar Camp, Baobab Ridge Private Lodge, Klaserie Camps, Klaserie Drift Safari Camps and Klaserie Sands offer guests a wide variety of quality accommodation options.
